A l&#8217;any 1947 va publicar Creative and Mental Growth, que es va convertir en el llibre m\u00e9s influent en educaci\u00f3 art\u00edstica durant l&#8217;\u00faltima meitat del segle XX. Aquest llibre descriu les caracter\u00edstiques de les produccions art\u00edstiques dels infants en cada edat que resumim a continuaci\u00f3:<\/p><p align=\"justify\"><br><\/p><p align=\"justify\"><br><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"justify\"><strong>1\u00aa.- ETAPA DEL GARGOT. Els comen\u00e7aments de l&#8217;autoexpressi\u00f3. De 2 a 4 anys:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<\/p><p>El nen reflecteix aqu\u00ed en el seu tra\u00e7 creador el seu desenvolupament intel\u00b7lectual i emocional. Dibuixa amb molta energia, encara que \u00e9s flexible per a canviar els seus moviments. El nen gaudeix amb el seu desenvolupament kinest\u00e9sico, amb els seus gargots i va aconseguint un control visual sobre ells. Es comporta independent d&#8217;influ\u00e8ncies exteriors.<\/p>\n<p>El nen viu experi\u00e8ncies que reflecteix en els seus dibuixos quan comen\u00e7a a assignar-los noms. De 4 a 7 anys:<\/strong><\/p><p align=\"justify\">\u00a0<\/p><p>L&#8217;infant ja comen\u00e7a a crear de manera conscient unes certes formes que tenen alguna relaci\u00f3 amb el m\u00f3n que el rodeja.<\/p><p>Aquesta etapa sorgeix a partir dels \u00faltims per\u00edodes del gargot i \u00e9s l&#8217;inici de la comunicaci\u00f3 gr\u00e0fica. Els tra\u00e7os i gargots van perdent cada vegada m\u00e9s la seva relaci\u00f3 amb els moviments corporals, i\u00a0 ara s\u00f3n controlats i es refereixen a objectes visuals.\u00a0<\/p><p>L&#8217;infant tracta d&#8217;establir una relaci\u00f3 entre ell i el que intenta representar.<\/p><p>Generalment, cap als 4 anys l&#8217;infant fa formes que es poden recon\u00e8ixer i cap als 5 anys es pot observar, gaireb\u00e9 sempre, persones, cases, arbres&#8230;<\/p><p>Al voltant dels 6 anys les figures han evolucionat fins a constituir dibuixos distingibles\u00a0 i amb un tema.
